Hen, Isa Brown

Description

ISA Brown is a beautiful hen with a pretty reddish brown plumage. It is actually a hybrid breed, produced for industrial use by a french company in 1978. It is one of the best layers found, as it lays up to 315 eggs annually.

Most people knows the ISA Brown as an affectionate bird that wants to cuddle. They are calm, trustful and curious breed, which is very social too. It can have a tendency to be hostile towards other breeds though.

The eggs of the hen are big and brown, and its owners therefore enjoys its high level of productivity. Slaughtering the hen does more harm than good though, as there isn’t much meat on the ISA Brown.
